Rust Some More..

I can't get enough of this stuff. I love the look of rust (I think I like the orange color it produces). Here is an old mirror that was sitting in the closet at my parents house. They didn't like the gold color so it was not up in their house. I decided to rust it and see if they would use it. Sure enough... it' now hanging in their new condo. Here is the process.

As I was working, I caught Porter the pug watching me through the old bathroom mirror I had sitting on the floor. He is such a funny pug!

Mudroom Facelift

I gave our mudroom a quick facelift last night. It was the last room downstairs that still had the original (smokers-yellow) paint color and it was driving me crazy. I searched in our garage and found a leftover color that had just enough in it to paint the small room.

Mudroom before:

Mudroom after it's little facelift:

I found these farm signs at a flea market in Eugene a while back. I loved them but no idea what I was going to do with them.  Since it points to the kitchen, I thought it was fitting.
Quote from my husband: "you painted the mud room...the color of mud." :)

Cheap Frame UpDo

As I was going through a closet, I found these 2 framed pictures that I had found for extremely cheap a few months ago. I was not a fan of the pictures, but figured I could do something since they were only a few bucks. It took me a few months but I finally dragged them out, took some scrap booking paper I had laying around, and put new images in them. For no cost at all, they turned out quite cute and look great in our guest bathroom. I think they will enjoy their new life on the wall rather than being tucked away in the closet.

Pug-Art

I have seen a few blogs that have adorable silhouettes of family and pets. We LOVE our pugs and I wanted to find a cute way to frame them as silhouettes because of how silly they are shaped. I had these 2 adorable mirrors that I was not using so I decided to treat them as frames for my new art project.

First, I found pictures of the pugs, sized them to be about equal, printed them on basic copy paper, then cut them out. I then traced the cutouts onto black paper and cut those out.

I took 2 pieces of patterned scrapbook paper and glued the Pug Silhouette's onto them. Tada... homemade Pug-Art!
